Parvin Ring

From £3,950

Final price confirmed at commission.

The Parvin Ring takes its name from the Persian word for the Pleiades star cluster, a constellation that poets have written about for a thousand years as the emblem of gathered light. A deep blue oval sapphire sits at the centre, surrounded by a radiating frame built on muqarnas geometry: the honeycomb vaulting that crowns the great iwans of Persepolis and Isfahan.

The Story

The Parvin Ring takes its name from the Persian word for the Pleiades star cluster, a constellation that poets have written about for a thousand years as the emblem of gathered light. A deep blue oval sapphire sits at the centre, surrounded by a radiating frame built on muqarnas geometry: the honeycomb vaulting that crowns the great iwans of Persepolis and Isfahan. Each facet of the gold frame is hand-finished to create the stepped, light-catching depth that defines muqarnas in architecture. Accent diamonds are set flush between the geometric tiers, catching light as the hand moves. The ring reads as sculptural form from across the table and as intricate architectural detail up close. This is what Persian craftspeople understood before the word cocktail ring existed. Made to order at our Birmingham Jewellery Quarter studio. Lead time four to six weeks. A private studio appointment for sizing and stone selection can be arranged upon enquiry.
