Frequently Asked Questions
Every Silux London piece begins with a conversation, not a click. Below are the questions we are asked most often about commissioning yours.
How do I order a piece?
There is no online checkout on this site. Every Silux London piece is made to order, by commission, and nothing is held in stock. To begin, simply send us an enquiry through the contact form or by email, and the conversation starts from there.
How does a commission work?
Once you enquire, the designer replies personally, usually within two to three working days. Together you agree every detail, size, stones where applicable, chain length, before any work begins. There is nothing to pay at enquiry stage: only once every detail is settled does the commission proceed.
What does "From £X" mean?
The price shown on each piece is a starting price for the piece as described. Because every piece is made to order, we confirm your final price together during the commission conversation, before anything is agreed. You will always know the price in full before any work begins.
How do I know my ring size?
Rings are made to your size from the outset, using UK letter sizing (H to Z). You can share your size when you enquire, or we will guide you through measuring at home. Resizing availability varies by design and is discussed with you for your particular piece.
Can chain lengths be adjusted?
Chain length is agreed with you at commission stage, so your necklace is right from the start. We can discuss standard lengths as well as alternatives, and help you choose whichever suits how you intend to wear the piece.
How are bracelets and earrings made to fit me?
Bracelets and cuffs are made to your wrist measurement, taken as part of the commission conversation. Earrings come with secure fittings for pierced ears as standard, and alternative fittings can be requested at enquiry if you need them.
What materials do you use?
Every piece is sculptural solid gold. Some pieces also carry gemstones, though this varies from piece to piece: each product page lists what is known about the stones in that particular design, so you can see exactly what you are commissioning.
Are the images on the site photographs?
Not quite: they are high-fidelity design visualisations of each piece, created because every piece is made to order rather than held ready-made. We use renders rather than stock photography as a point of honesty: what you see reflects the piece as designed, before it is made specifically for you.
Can I request a change to an existing design?
Yes. Because every piece is made to order, each commission is a conversation: if you would like a variation on a design you have seen, tell us at enquiry and we will discuss what is possible together, as part of agreeing every detail before work begins.
Who designs each piece?
Every Silux London commission is designed personally by our founder, an award-winning designer-goldsmith. He works from Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter, and every piece begins and ends with him personally: there is no design team between your commission and the finished piece.
Where are you based?
Silux London is based in the Jewellery Quarter, Birmingham, United Kingdom. The brand belongs to Studio Saina Ltd, and it is from this Birmingham studio that every piece is designed personally before being made to order for you.
How can I reach you?
