Afsaneh

Every piece here carries its own legend.

Afsaneh is the Persian word for legend, and this is Silux's sculptural statement family, pieces built around a story rather than a single motif. The Simurgh Cocktail Ring opens it with Persian mythology's greatest bird: ancient, wise, and possessed of all the world's knowledge. In the Shahnameh she nurses Zal, the white-haired hero, and grants him one of her feathers to call on her in his darkest hour, held here at £2,400 as the most accessible entry into the family. Parvin turns to architecture rather than myth for its legend: each facet of its gold frame is hand-finished to create the stepped, light-catching depth that defines muqarnas vaulting in Persian architecture, with accent diamonds set flush between the geometric tiers so they catch light as the hand moves, at £3,950, geometry worn as its own kind of legend.

The family also holds Dastan, a capsule of twelve pieces whose name is the Persian word for story, and which belongs here for the same reason the rest of Afsaneh does: each piece is built from a tale rather than a pattern. The horse that guarded a sleeping hero, the parrot that taught its keeper how to open a cage, the leopard that watches a mountain nobody climbs, then a second wave in Homa, Shahin and Naz. Every one of them hides a pierced girih star beneath the crown or behind the back, a maker's mark you find only by turning the piece over, which is the geometry's proper place in a story: signed, not stated.

Afsaneh runs from the Simurgh Cocktail Ring at £2,400 to Parvin at £3,950, with the Dastan pieces priced on application, every piece solid gold, designed in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter and made to order: legend and architecture, held in metal that never stops telling its story.
