The Story
The Lantern PendantThe Shamdan takes its name from the Persian word for chandelier - the lamp-holders that lit palace interiors of Safavid Iran. This pendant is built around an elongated hexagon: the Torange tile, the connector piece of the girih system. Inside it, strapwork runs at half-scale, a smaller star rosette contained within the hexagonal form. The bail is integrated - the top vertex of the hexagon extends naturally into the suspension loop. Hung on an 18ct trace chain, 45cm with 5cm adjuster.
