The Story
Shekar means the hunt. A crowned Sassanian king at full gallop draws his bow at a fleeing ibex, the composition the court's silversmiths struck onto gilt plates thirteen centuries ago, here cast in soft relief on a solid satin ground and framed by a pearl roundel of flush diamonds. The horse's tail breaks the circle. Forty-two millimetres, a hollow-shell back closed with the girih lattice. The hero of the register.
