Silux London is a young studio, and there are no client reviews or photographs of finished commissions to show yet. None are borrowed. What there is, is the record of the person who designs, models and makes every piece himself.

Most rings are chosen, not designed
Most engagement rings are chosen at a counter, under time pressure, from what is already made, and the person quoting the price did not design the ring and cannot change it.
A design session inverts that: you sit with the person who will make the piece, and nothing is fixed until the design has been drawn up, sent to you and approved by you.
What actually happens in the hour
- You talk. What the piece is for, and what it should never look like.
- The direction takes shape with you there, from the images you like and the ones you do not.
- You get honest numbers, split across metal, centre stone, design and making.
- You leave owing nothing, with no obligation to commission anything.

Before anything is made
- The exact centre stone shown to you with its certificate, and ordered only once you approve it. Your model is then built around that stone, never a stand-in.
- The Nothing-Cut-Until-You-Say-So Guarantee: nothing cast, set or touched until you approve the finished model, and any mismatch remodelled at our cost.
- A printed prototype to hold before casting, tried on in the studio or posted to you, whenever you would like one.
- A ring sizer posted free where the piece is a ring, so the size is right before anything is made.
The making, and after
- The Four-Week Promise: made, set, finished and hallmarked within 4 weeks of model approval, in writing on your quotation.
- Half on design approval, the balance only when your piece is finished and ready to post.

Before you book
Is the session really free, and is there a catch?
It is free and there is no catch. No fee, no card details, and no obligation to commission anything afterwards. You keep the written summary either way. The design conversation is where a commission is really decided, whether it happens here or somewhere else, and it deserves to happen properly before anyone spends a penny.
How long does a commission take?
Once you have approved the model, the piece is made, finished and hallmarked in three to four weeks, and the top of that window is a written promise: the Four-Week Promise, restated on your quotation rather than offered as an estimate. From the point you approve the design, four to six weeks is the honest working range, because the stone approval, the modelling and your own sign-off sit in between, a printed prototype too if you would like one. If you are working towards a fixed date, say so at the start and it will be worked backwards from that date before you commit to anything.
Do I have to come to Birmingham?
No. The session runs in the Jewellery Quarter studio if you would like to visit, or by video call wherever you are. Commissions are made for clients outside the UK as well as in it.
What if I do not like the design once I can see it properly?
That is exactly what the approval stages are for. Nothing is cast, set or cut until you have seen the piece modelled in three dimensions and confirmed it is right, and if the model does not match the design you approved it is remodelled at our cost.
What if I change my mind after paying the deposit?
If you decide not to continue after the model has been made but before you approve it, your deposit is refunded less £250 for the design and modelling already done, and nothing will have been made. A piece made to your own specification does not carry the usual fourteen-day right to change your mind, which is exactly why every decision sits before the making rather than after it.
I do not know what I want yet. Is it too early?
No, and that is usually the better time to have the conversation. Coming with a feeling, a story or a single detail is enough to work from. Arriving certain of every specification is rarer than people expect.
Plainly: the hour is free, the design and the numbers are yours to keep, and nothing is made until you approve the model. Time before a date is the only thing that cannot be given back later, so book the session while it is comfortably yours.
