The gazelle, ahu, is the beloved's eye in every Persian ghazal and the royal quarry on every Sassanian plate. Here she leaps inside a pearl roundel of flush diamonds, one hind leg breaking the circle, hanging from a plain polished stud so the roundel swings as you turn your head. No stones on the gazelle: satin gold, soft relief, the ribbon at her neck. Fifteen millimetres, light enough for every day.
