The Story
I designed these drop earrings to capture the elegance of Persian turquoise in motion. Each earring features a teardrop cabochon of Neyshabur turquoise, suspended from a gold fitting adorned with delicate diamond accents that catch the light as you move. The Design
The teardrop form has deep roots in Persian jewellery, representing the sacred water that sustains the paradise garden. These earrings reference the boteh motif, the teardrop-shaped pattern that originated in Sassanid Persia and later travelled westward to become what Europeans call "paisley". Here, it returns to its origins, rendered in turquoise and gold. Materials 18ct yellow gold (hallmarked Birmingham Assay Office)
