The Story
I created this statement ring as the crown jewel of the Firouzeh collection. A magnificent cabochon of Neyshabur turquoise, selected for its exceptional colour and matrix, is set within an elaborate 18ct gold mount featuring diamond-set shoulders and hand-engraved Persian motifs. The Design
This ring is an homage to the great turquoise jewels of the Persian court. The Safavid and Qajar dynasties prized turquoise above all other gemstones, and the finest specimens were reserved for royal regalia. The elaborate setting references the ornate metalwork of the Iranian Crown Jewels collection, where turquoise and gold create pieces of breathtaking complexity. The split shoulders feature scrolling arabesques set with diamonds, whilst the gallery beneath the stone reveals hidden geometric patterns visible only to the wearer. Materials 18ct yellow gold (hallmarked Birmingham Assay Office)
