I designed Shab-rang around a single idea - the colour of the Persian night sky. The centre stone is an oval tanzanite, a gemstone that shifts from deep blue to violet depending on the light, named for the Tanzanian mountains but carrying the soul of a Persian evening.

The Story
I designed Shab-rang around a single idea - the colour of the Persian night sky. The centre stone is an oval tanzanite, a gemstone that shifts from deep blue to violet depending on the light, named for the Tanzanian mountains but carrying the soul of a Persian evening. Four claws rise in iwan arch points around the stone, a form borrowed from the doorways of Isfahan. The gallery beneath is pierced in a badami pattern - almond-shaped openings that let the light through. The shank tapers to a knife edge and the shoulders carry fine eslimi arabesque engraving. Made to order in 8-10 weeks.
