I designed the Emza Songbird Letter Pendant for a signature that carries a little life with it. Your chosen letter holds a small songbird resting on the stroke, exactly the way a bird settles on a branch: body smooth, wings folded close, no engraved feathers or fussy detail. The bird is cast with the letter as one piece of gold, never perched on afterward, so there is no joint to weaken or catch. The mirror-polished outer edge and satin-brushed inner curve of the letterform continue beneath it, so the songbird reads as part of the stroke rather than something added to decorate it. It hangs from a fine trace chain, close to the collarbone, and cleans with warm soapy water and a soft cloth like the rest of the family. Every piece is cast in solid gold and hallmarked by the Birmingham Assay Office. Materials: solid 9ct yellow gold (18ct available on request); songbird fused to stroke, one-piece cast construction; fine trace chain included, 45cm; mirror-polished outer edge with satin-brushed inner curve; approx. 4.2g.
