Golestan Anar Drop Earrings
From £1,450
Final price confirmed at commission.
I designed the Golestan Anar Drop Earrings as a matched pair of small paradises, one for each side. The pomegranate, انار (anar), has always been a fruit of plenty in Persian gardens, and there is something right about wearing that abundance in pairs, a little weight of meaning at each ear.

The Story
I designed the Golestan Anar Drop Earrings as a matched pair of small paradises, one for each side. The pomegranate, انار (anar), has always been a fruit of plenty in Persian gardens, and there is something right about wearing that abundance in pairs, a little weight of meaning at each ear. Each fruit is built in demi-relief, sculpted in full round to the front and hollowed beneath so the earring carries real presence without real weight. The pair is finished to a mirror polish at the body, with the crown and leaf detail left matte and hand-brushed, the same polished-against-raw contrast that runs through the whole Anar capsule. The hollow at the back of each fruit is not simply emptied out. I have carved it into a Persian girih lattice gallery, the interlocking strapwork of Persian architecture reduced to jewellery scale, hidden from the front and found only by whoever looks closely. It is what keeps a demi-relief piece this size wearable through a whole evening. Worn together, the pair reads as a considered, occasion-ready statement, but light enough for daily wear if that is how you choose to live in them. Materials: 18ct yellow gold, UK hallmarked (Birmingham Assay Office)
Demi-relief pomegranate pair, mirror-polished body, matte hand-brushed crown and leaf
Hollowed Persian girih lattice gallery to the reverse of each earring
