Golestan Anar Pendant

From £1,150

Final price confirmed at commission.

I designed the Golestan Anar Pendant as the piece I would choose to wear every day and explain only when asked. The pomegranate has sat on Persian tables and in Persian gardens for longer than most nations have existed, and I wanted a version of it small enough to live at the throat without announcing itself.

The Story

I designed the Golestan Anar Pendant as the piece I would choose to wear every day and explain only when asked. The pomegranate has sat on Persian tables and in Persian gardens for longer than most nations have existed, and I wanted a version of it small enough to live at the throat without announcing itself. The fruit is built in demi-relief: a true half-dome sculpted with full depth to the front, then hollowed and flat-backed so it sits close and comfortable against the skin rather than swinging forward. The body is finished to a mirror polish, set against a matte, hand-brushed crown and leaf, so the light catches the fruit's curve without losing the detail at its top. Where most pendants hide their construction, mine turns it into a second design: the hollowed reverse is carved into a Persian girih lattice, an openwork gallery that keeps the gold light on a fine 45cm cable chain. It is a hidden signature, seen only when the pendant is lifted from the chest. The pendant is sized to be worn alone or layered, a piece for daily life as much as any occasion. Materials: 18ct yellow gold, UK hallmarked (Birmingham Assay Office)
