The Story

The Persian rose (گل, Gol) is not a sentimental symbol in Persian culture; it is a philosophical one. For Hafez, the rose is the face of the beloved. For Saadi, it is the proof that beauty and fragility are inseparable. I wanted to give that idea a form light enough to wear every day, yet precise enough to mean something. The Golestan Gol Stacking Ring is an Accessible-tier everyday ring in 9ct yellow gold. The band is 3mm wide with a low-profile, slightly domed cross-section for all-day comfort. At the centre of the front face, a single stylised rose bloom is die-struck in shallow relief: five petals arranged with the geometric regularity of Persian botanical illustration, each petal edge lightly milgrained. The flower sits within a circular frame of fine beaded granulation, referencing the granulation work found on ancient Persian gold objects from the Achaemenid period (held in the British Museum's Iranian collection). No stone is set; the design is entirely tonal, gold on gold, so it stacks cleanly with other rings and catches light without competing. The inside of the band carries the single Persian word گل (Gol, flower) stamped in Nasta'liq. 9ct yellow gold, UK hallmarked
