The Story

Yalda (یلدا) is the longest night of the year, the winter solstice, and the narcissus is the flower that comes into bloom in that season. Persian poets call the beloved’s eye the narcissus eye, and this ring is built on the flower. An elongated step cut stone sits low in the setting, held by six fine claws. A slender stem rises from the band and splits into fine strands that sweep up into a single long narrow leaf on one shoulder; on the other, two small flowers grow from the stem, each made of six marquise diamonds round a small yellow sapphire. 18ct yellow gold, polished. The ring is drawn around a step cut of about 8 x 6 mm, and the setting is fitted to the stone you choose, from 7 to 9 mm long. The fitted band is a fine band that follows the curve of the ring and nests against it. The price shown is for the setting in 18ct yellow gold alone: the centre stone is chosen with you from a range of stones, shown here in mint green sapphire and colourless diamond, and priced with it. Every ring is made to order, and nothing is held in stock.
