Hamsang Band | Shahnameh Men's Wedding Band | Silux London
From £3,200
Final price confirmed at commission.
Hamsang means equal in weight, equal in stone - a word used in the Shahnameh when two warriors are so evenly matched that neither can overcome the other. I gave this band to Rostam and Sohrab: the two figures carved in continuous relief around the exterior, horse and spear and shield, the greatest battle in Persian literature on a 7mm band of gold.

The Story
Hamsang means equal in weight, equal in stone - a word used in the Shahnameh when two warriors are so evenly matched that neither can overcome the other. I gave this band to Rostam and Sohrab: the two figures carved in continuous relief around the exterior, horse and spear and shield, the greatest battle in Persian literature on a 7mm band of gold. The carved valleys are satin. The raised relief is polished. The bevel rails catch the light. Inside, a line of Kufic script. This is a band for someone who wants to carry a story. Made to order in 10-12 weeks.
