The Story

I designed the Sama Ring so the ribbon becomes the band itself. It wraps the finger the way the dancer's skirt wraps the air, then folds over at the top exactly as she turns, that instant caught in gold and held there. The band is cut from one continuous ribbon of solid 18ct yellow gold, worked to a soft convex profile. One edge is left raw and hand-brushed, quiet against the skin. The other edge is mirror polished and set with a fine row of around 26 pave-set diamonds, 1.0mm round brilliants totalling roughly 0.13ct, tracing the curve from base to fold. The free tip is softened and rounded, tucked close to the band so it never catches. Every surface is smooth and wipe-clean, with no crevices to trap dirt or polish residue. The ring is made to your finger size and hallmarked by the Birmingham Assay Office, the way every Sama piece is. Materials: 18ct solid yellow gold, hallmarked by the Birmingham Assay Office
